Young Hillingdon Carers Art Exhibit & Photo-shoot – Coming to Uxbridge Library!
During August, award-winning charity Create is providing young carers from Uxbridge with photography and film-making workshops at EMI’s former site, the Old Vinyl Factory. The young carers have already produced a surreal photography series re imagining themselves as music stars complete with eclectic costumes. From 24-26 August, they will return to the Factory to shoot some short films, after which their work will be displayed at Uxbridge Library. The launch of the exhibition will take place on 12 September.
At the beginning of August, the young people explored their creativity under the guidance of Create’s professional photographer Tracey Fahy, who has worked with the BBC, the Barbican and English National Ballet. With her help, the young carers produced highly stylised images by photographing each other alongside 2D images, 3D objects and the Old Vinyl Factory itself.
